I give up.

So my leg was numb after the surgery (still is)... but now I am in the same amount of pain if not more than when I was before the surgery. I've been told pain is normal for a while until the nerves come back... when does that happen? I had the surgery to get rid of this fucking leg pain not create a scar on my back just to have the pain come back ( Read more... )

I've had more than one person whom I've known have surgery to fix pain tell me it can take a long freaking time for the pain to truly get to an okay level.

About the only thing I can suggest is meditation to try to meet the pain head on.

It sounds crunchy - I know. It is, really. I think of the pain as a thing, a person almost, and go talk to it. I tell it that I know it has something important to tell me, that it wants to let me know that something is horribly wrong and out of whack - and that I know. I find that if I stop ignoring the pain and just meet it head on it helps. It's dumb, but it helps.

I'm so sorry it's so hard right now. *hugs*
