This isn't a fairytale, this is reality. You can't expect it to end the same way as a story created to entertain.

[It takes her a moment to notice this, with her attention on her drawings. When she does, she sticks to speaking. It's easier. Her tone stays good natured, but the light, joking edge fades to something more serious]

I know it's really happening, but I wouldn't say it's all that different from the stories. If you really look at what the characters face in those worlds... they don't exactly have it easy, either.

Their struggles that have been written down by an author, already pre-planned. That is the interpretation of a creator, not their own.

You don't think there could be even a seed of truth behind the tales?

A very exaggerated one, if it is suppose to be a work of fiction. But, I suppose I can consider it a small possibility.

If that's what it was supposed to be. Maybe the only reason they put it under fiction is because no one would believe it really happened.

Then what would the point be to having a non-fiction section? If there is no proof, there is no truth to it.

So you think we already know everything there is to discover?

Back home, most of my friends would say kidnapping worlds were things of fiction. But here we are.

It makes me wonder how many of those stories are made up and how many of them pretend to be because we can't accept them in the World As We Know It.

No, I simply find using fictional work as some kind of guidance far fetched.

You sound almost thrill at the opportunity to play out a tale you've visualized in your mind.

Maybe it is. [she doesn't seem too put out by the idea, though]

I am. Maybe not the one I've visualized. I don't want to play a part in a story I've already read. But to have a chance to really be part of something magical?

I get that it's dangerous. But that doesn't mean I can't enjoy the wonder of it at the same time.

Be careful what you ask for. It may turn into something you'll regret later on.

[There's a pause, before he writes again]

You should consider recording your ventures here. I can't imagine this place has never been written down in the books.

There's always a price.

[that gets a small laugh] I was thinking the same thing, actually. Except I'm really terrible at recording things in writing. My friend Christy is much better at it than I am.

But I can maybe illustrate it.

[and a drawing will begin to appear as she sketches into her journal... an image identical similar to the one she'd drawn for Jack]

[He needs to remember that he's not here to make more enemies. He waits until she finishes the drawing.]

I see that you have potential there. Yes.

Is your friend here? Perhaps you could both collaborate.

[lucky for him, getting on Jilly's bad side probably isn't something he'll have to worry about]

If he is, I haven't seen him yet. But that wouldn't be a bad idea.

I see. Then an illustration book can work just as well, unless you wanted to consider finding someone else to collaborate with.

It's definitely something to think about. Depending on how long we're stuck here, just having a project to occupy the mind would be worth it, in and of itself.
