[It's the day before the festival and there is so much to be done and Jilly was determined to rise to the occasion. This meant that the artist, who was usually a bundle of activity, was currently imitating a whirlwind as she rushed about the school trying to tie up loose ends

I don't know about decorations, but I can probably help with setting up things.
[Because an artist, Amelia is not. She's not too bad when it comes to power tools though?]
[ooc: I'm good with any sort of cr, if you want them to be friends or anything? And good luck with the madness!]

You have no idea how much I'd appreciate that. Really. I think I have more banners here than I know what to do with.

It's no problem. I'll head toward the school now.

[For all that she's running about like a madwoman, she's pretty easy to spot. There's a smudge of blue paint on her cheek (not to mention all the other colors in her hair and on her clothes) and she's currently trying to figure out how to get the spearheads on all the spears to stop wilting. Wilty spears will never do for skits about vanquishing the third party.]

[Yes, it's pretty easy to find a paint-splattered hurricane, even in the midst of festival preparations. Amelia grins a bit, noticing Jilly's current problem as she walks up to the woman.]
Not the best weapons in the world, are they?
Reply
[oooh! idea.]
Can you grab the popsicle sticks for me? They're over on the counter. I...think.
[she gestures at the cluttered area behind her. For all that she gets the job done, Jilly's never been the greatest at keeping things neat]

[Did Amelia mention she's not an artist? Because really, she's not. Still, she'll head over to the table to try and find them. Easier said than done. Moving things carefully to try and avoid a bigger mess.]
You're going to have to spend as much time cleaning this up as you have working on everything else.
[Oh, wait. Amelia pulls out the bag of them, then brings it over to Jilly.] These, right?
Reply
[glancing over her shoulder when Amelia picks up the bag, she grins] Perfect! Oh... and the black electrical tape.
[she doesn't wait for the other girl to hunt that down, though, instead setting down the spear in order to go searching through a myriad of supplies herself.] This might work.
[as she manages to rescue a roll of tape from the clutter, she'll smile at her friend and (sort of) cousin] The clean up's not so bad. It's worth it if tomorrow goes well.

True. Everyone seems to be working really hard this year. [All for a good cause, of course. Amelia goes to the festival every year, despite the precautions she has to take for the crowds. Bumping into too many random strangers will leave her an itching lump of hives otherwise.]
You're not just going to spend the whole time doing backstage work, are you?
Reply
That's what today is for, so tomorrow can be footloose and fancy free.
You're going, right? [her smile was a mix of curiosity and excitement.] Think you'll do anything with Legato?
Reply
I'm defnitely going. As for Legato... [Amelia lets out a tiny sigh as she reaches for a popsicle stick, laying it on the spearhead in the same way as Jilly.]I want him to come with me. But I don't know if he will, especially when our family will be around.
[...] You know. The generally disapproving members.

[she closes one eye, tilting her head at the spear] Or...well.. close enough.
[passing the electric tape over to the other woman, she presses her lips together as she speaks]
It's a big festival, though. Even without facing the family, there's got to be a way to make it work.

We could probably avoid them easily enough. Dad's got the concert, and Vash will be working the flower stands. But I don't know if he even wants to go at all. [Amelia frowns thoughtfully.] He hasn't said anything about it.
What about you? Got anyone in mind for company?
Reply
[she smiles] I'll probably just try to catch any friends I see while I'm there.
