The first thought that came to my mind was that you would be a good replacement for Mr. Kamm when he retires. Your (God-given) passion + your (God-given) brains = someone the Lord uses in these types of jobs.

Well, that would be a dream come true, to someday grow to such a level of effectiveness. Thanks.

Thanks for sharing that. I know I have friends who have 'issues' with God because they don't see him doing things to help the world (in broad contexts)... seems to me that they don't see it because God's part in the work doesn't often get the headlines.

I heard that yesterday - did you see the Frontline episode about Tiananmen last week?

Nope, didn't. I did hear somewhere, though, that the last Tiananmen prisoner was just released recently, something like that?

The Frontline episode was actually titled "The Tank Man" and it gave the story of Tiananmen, then asked what became of the man who stood in front of the tanks. Some said that he was carried off by Chinese authorities who were all around the square, but others say that if he had been, the government would likely have made a spectacle of his capture and execution, since they did this with other prisoners who were less well-known. Their theory is that it was supporters of the uprising, or friends of his, that carried him off so that he wouldn't be caught and whisked him into hiding and now, if he's still alive, he lives a life of anonymity. Nobody knows who he is.

Me: I see that Dave Lin has a big engine as his icon now.

Kelley: Is that what that is?

Me: Yes, he works for Caterpillar now.

Kelley: I saw the new icon, but couldn't figure out what it was.

Me: It's an engine. Well, either that or a Vogon.
