I'm a Jack girl, no doubt. But as soon as I saw Sawyer reading, actually reading, Watership Down and then making jokes demonstrating what he was reading (the Communism joke). I knew there was something going on in his brain. :)
I usually try to keep up with reading Sawyer's reading list (and Desmond's)... but I skipped the Blume book.
What? You never read Judy Blume as a kid?! I think I may have even read Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret as a youngling, and I am, let the record show, a guy. I certainly read Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. I kinda thought Blume was one of the prereqs for getting into jr high...
Wow, that is really bad weather! We're supposed to have the bad weather here, but it's been almost 70! I only just broke out my winter coat last night.
Thank God for the Outback! Mine is in serious need of repairs, but it got me into work at Children's Hospital a couple of years ago during the worst blizzard since 1977! We were going to go to one car since we live in the city now, but I just don't know if I can live without my all-wheel drive. If it's not worth fixing, I'm looking into buying a new one. Mine only has 117,000 miles on it, so it's practially brand-new!
Yeah, I'm quite thankful for the Outback. It's a measly 4-cyl, manual trans with a clunky, troublesome mechanical clutch; plus it's geared high to rev over 3000 at 65; so it's not much fun to drive. But 7" ground clearance and AWD, baby, I'll take it.
Ours is an '00 with 90k mi on it. We had to replace the clutch at 60k (when we bought it); hopefully we won't have to do that again.
We never got the bad weather - about an inch of snow fell on Saturday morning, but it melted before noon.
I have a '99 Outback with 118,000 miles - a 4-cylinder automatic. I bought in in '01 with 27,000 miles on it. It's in the shop for significant repairs, but I might get another year out of it at least. The engine is fine - it's just brakes and a wheel bearing that need to be fixed. I'm not sure now that I want to go to one car (Ray wants a Prius) and a zipcar membership. I might want to buy another Outback when this one goes.
yesterday it was a bit warm, I was actually running the AC in my car. today was a bit more brisk, so I wore a jacket, but still no socks. It should get colder this weekend, but I doubt we'll have any such thing as snow.

Sawyer is definitely the guy I loved to hate. I've warmed to him this season, though.
