Yeah - although were I a responsible homeowner, as I imagine you are, and was checking my water softener tank every couple of weeks instead of every couple of months, we could have foregone several weeks of vomitousness.
Hey, I've been thinking about doing your water manifold thing, although I don't know that it will happen this year. It's probably beyond my reach at this point, really. It took me over 8 hrs just to disconnect, drain, disinfect the salt tank, reconnect, sanitize the resin tank, and recharge my softener. Including a trip to the Sears parts store for the parts I broke in the process.
It reoccurred to me today, in part, because the U tube of the softener discharge drain pipe fell apart in my hands today. I mean, I know I'm freakishly strong, but still... it didn't inspire confidence as to the quality of the pipes I can't see...
Given that it's superbowl sunday, I'll refrain from the heartfelt hug, and instead offer a hearty, back-slapping, heterosexual-male-affection-level approved: "Wow man, that sucks."
