1. Portfolio Journal/Sketchbook
To get into college, I had to make a portfolio and do notebooks for it and stuff. The following are just a few of the sketches I did in said notebooks. All of the drawings are connected but it's really hard to explain. (ah, b-but not like, in a pretentious way! It's just loads of themes that I can't describe. :C )

lol that's me looking super grumpy in the reflective cup

2. College Journal
I was a graphic design student for a while, but I dropped out because it was boring and I wanted to do animation instead. We were required to keep notebooks detailing every assignment we did and how we went about doing them. In the 4 short months I was a student there, I filled up like, 7 notebooks. :| Luckily for you guys, I've only got one of them with me!

We had to make a self-portrait out of any food. This was just a test. I know it's awful haha. I just wanted to show you the types of materials we would end up sticking in our notebooks.

Making a sensory food menu; I was debating whether to make a carnival one of a Mario one for aaages.

3. Moleskines
Most of what's in these Moleskines are shit-- just loads of drawings of people on buses and trains-- so I picked out a few pages that were different. Oldest to newest.

"I will grant you three wishes (provided they are of a toast-based nature)"

Pffft really lame. This was done after I broke up with someone. That phrase actually helped.

Amsterdam. The small writing up in the corner is from when me and a friend tried to remember as many different time machines in popular culture as we could. If you squint, you can see we only got like, 6.

I think everyone and their mom had a Batman journal entry leading up to Dark Knight. I found the Harvey one online and drew it in my sketchbook and then thought, hey! Let's see how easy it is to draw the Joker and Batman like this! (it is not easy it took forever I hate the Joker's hair oh my god)

Drawing all of the bands and singers that were on my playlist that day. Scott Pilgrim is super happy to be next to Tom Waits.

Disco Pigs! The writing on the left is lyrics from Cillian Murphy's song "So New."

I am sure this has been done before; I just can't remember where I saw it.

That's lil' Batman up there-- he's property of Calamity Jon. I just loved the picture, so I copied it and stuck it in my sketchbook.

More Batman stuff (Man I'm sorry, I was really excited about Dark Knight.)

I always end up drawing my bag when I'm on a train

This is just a blatent rip-off of www.blueskycomplex.com's work. I really like her style so I tried to emulate it (and failed of course!)

The photo is from when I got my Lego Licence!

The small red writing says, "10.10.08 (1:11pm) : currently sitting next to the most adorable old man. He's all hunched over and he's got big old man glasses and amazing Einstein hair. He's reading this little book which I thought was a self-help book (like the little book of calm) but upon closer inspection, it's actually a Winnie The Pooh book!! I wish he could be my grandpa)

I like Mass Effect. :|

DUCKIEEEE

I went to see the Mighty Boosh live! It was pretty okay I guess.

I was watching all of the Oscar nominated films in all of the categories I care about. :D I actually ended up watching all of them (EXCEPT La Maison en Petit Cubes which actually won best animated short!! Argh) I just couldn't be arsed scanning it in again.

Based off of some picture of that Zooey Deschanel chick.

I found some crazy children's illustrations on Flickr the other day. Scanner killed the colour, though. :(
