For someone who wants to be a writer, the portion that I've read is pathetically small.

I think professors make their students read their books so that they can say that people read them....

Wow, quite the range of books on that list. I only skimmed it, but I noticed that most of my favorite books are not on it, and a few of them I know to be not worth your time, for that matter, not good books. For instance, I started reading Memoirs of a Geisha several years ago. I didn't get very far, it was really bad, not things I want to put in my mind, so I stopped after having to skip pages multiple times.

I have read Romeo and Juliet, and you haven't!!! Go read it tonight, you would like it.
