I guess I -could- just occationally post funny stories I gotta share with everyone in general, or talk about recent revilations that I think up. Something like that

Wow...this subject goes right up my alley, Tek! I've found myself kinda envious of other artists online, especially with people drawing their characters. Pretty much NOBODY draws mine unless we're doing a trade. XP Then again, I don't really use mine online much, just show a picture here and there, ya know?
Where trading "pics for fics" is concerned, I've seen it done plenty of times actually! It's mostly in anime where I've seen this happen, but I have seen it happen! Really you can trade for anything, so don't rule out the fic idea!
And lastly, I guess some people can do the MB RPs, but people like us just can't. I know why I can't...except for maybe Yahoo Groups, I get weird with how the threads are laid out. Confused maybe. And the way in which some people write, I would rather see their "script" format.
1. Seriously, all the good artists in their genre (or main topic) seem to know eachother. Fanart artists, managa artists, comic artists... It's insane.
1.5 Dark has a lot of fanart because he does like, millions of art trades XD I'm personally more flattered with a piece of art someone has drawn as a gift without really expecting to get something in return. (Of course, I tend to decline art trades cause I'm bad at getting them done on time ._. I try to repay random giftarts tho n_n)
2. The Yoshi Station is nearing the point where life could easily be breathed into it, and every so often people still ask me when it's coming back. If you're looking for more ways to be active online, I think the most obvious choice is to start posting stuff. ^^ I'd be only too happy to help with that too.
3. I never join message board RPs. ^^; I prefer MSN stuff, to be honest... though I've never pen-and-paper RPed, so I can't compare that to anything. *hangs head in shame*
Perhaps the main problem with Message Board RPs is that people tend to treat them like Instant Message RPs, with a flurry of one-line posts, leaving the others trapped in Prague and under attack by the Austrians without any hope that the Prussians will help them escape. A real mess.
Perhaps if it was treated more like a story, with large poetic sentences/descriptions and all, the the largest peanut butter chunks would be removed. You know, the jagged ones that rip apart the roof of the mouth, totally ruining the sandwich. Or, get the searched-for dialog finished in an Instant Message session, then add all of those jaw-dropping sensory details into the post.
When one seems to have great talent, that person doesn't have to fear art trades, but rather random HUGE amounts of requests! Everyone loves to have his/her character under some "more superior" style!
I guess anyone who isn't illiterate can write (and on the internet, no one seems to be illiterate), even though if that person had some really bad writing skills! Although, there are some really bad artists around as well - no offence...
I guess it just matters in what art group you join which can give you adequate popularity, and you can even make familiar/specialised discussions...
So it all really depends really... I wonder about materialistic things though...
