I checked that link out when Andy sent me an email. This is the most hopeful thing I've heard about the country's energy crisis in a long time. It did seem pretty simplistic...I'm sure there are a million factors playing into each statistic he cited. But if it works, sounds like it'll work quick, which is good.
I'm just amazed that the issue here has to be "decreasing our dependence on foreign oil," as opposed to just plain "doing the right thing in terms of earth's natural resources." Maybe you just have to spin it differently for different people, but it seems like just having a planet we can safely inhabit--no matter who is dependent on whose resources--is a decent goal in itself. Call me crazy. :-)
