I had an interview yesterday that went fairly well... and I'm supposed to call another company for some freelance work today. (Remote freelance work; they want me to make them a powerpoint presentation of their product. Not terribly difficult, methinks. But they're going to give me a storyboard today, hopefully.) Keep in mind, too, that the time you're on the train can still be used effectively. Do your freelance jobs while you're traveling (especially if it's as easy as making a powerpoint based off a storyboard), or before you head to work in the morning make a list of the jobs you're applying for, their requirements, and work on your resume/cover letters for each during that limbo time.
But you're the learned one, you're probably doing this already :D
