And.... the last section of my Hungary/Prussia alphabet (thank god!) + teh theme of the month or whatever it was. Week? YEAR? MILLENIUM??!? Anyways, that's not important.
...
Here are you're drabbles. I hope you enjoy them.
- Questions
They lay in a wide field of long grass, hidden from anyone who should choose to glance over at the expanse of grass. Lying on their backs, head to head, all they could see were the stars stretching out above them, with the scratchy edges of the grass trying to reach the sky. The silence stretched between them. Hundreds of unvoiced questions hung between them.
Why did you marry him?
Why didn’t you tell me before?
Why didn’t you wait?
Why were you to full of pride to do anything?
Why… why… why?
- Resume Play
“What in the world did you expect me to do?”
“How could you have just stood there and do nothing?! You… you-“ Suddenly something clicked and they both froze, red faces and mouths open in silent insults. An old man stepped out in front of the projector screen.
“Now, class, this is an example of a denial relationship. There types of characters have obvious chemistry but often find themselves denying it.” The English class in front of him were taking notes furiously, hoping that this wouldn’t be covered in to much detail on the test. The teacher continued to explain the ‘denial relationship’ until the bell rung. The class quickly emptied, leaving only two students behind. The girl was trying to gather all her books off the desk, and the boy was slowly finishing his apology note for his next class. She was walking out of the room, when she tripped on an outstretched chair leg, and she and the books hit the floor.
“Gilbert!” She roared at the boy sitting halfway across the room.
“What in the world did you expect me to do, Elizabeth!”
“How could you have just sat there and do nothing!”
“That’s enough now, please continue on to you next class now.” The two students glared at each other, but Elizabeth quickly threw her books together and stormed out of the room. Gilbert sat there with a bemused smile on his face. The teacher sighed.
And once again, I don’t even need to press play to continue my movie.
- SCIENCE! (parody of Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice)
It was annoying every time that that… FOP, speed up to the crime scene on his motor cycle. Disturbing the peace, eating her snackoo’s, and bothering her the whole time. Elizabeth ground her teeth together as she heard the familiar roar of tires on the road. Why did she have to work for him, why couldn’t she work for Roderich, or better yet, out of this hell hole and in a science lab, doing what she really wanted to do.
“Guten Tag, Elizabeth.”
“Stop randomly spewing German everywhere, Mr. Weilschmit.” She snapped, pulling out a bottle of lumiol and testing the footprint for blood.
“What are you doing, Fraulien?”
“IT’S SCIENCE YOU IDIOT! IF YOU HAD ANY SORT OF EDUCATION YOU WHOULD UNDERSTAND!”
“Oh yes, but Fraulien, if you and any sort of education, you would realize that I am the lawyer, and you are the underpaid detective.” As the bloody fop she worked for walked away with a jaunty flip of his hand, Elizabeth had never felt more like killing a man more.
**Oh by the way, this one is horrible. Don't read it. Unless you already have.
- Tears
She was crying. She was sitting on his bed crying her eyes out, his pillow hugged to her chest. Gilbert didn’t believe what he was seeing. He had walking into his room not expecting anyone, and there was Elizabeth, tearing up on his bed.
“Elizabeth?” He asked quietly, slowly approaching the woman. She looked up, her eyes red rimmed. She let out a sob and threw her arms around her neck, sending them toppling to the floor. Gilbert let out a groan.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” She sobbed.
“Elizabeth, what happened?” He muttered, pushing himself up into a sitting position.
“Roderich… he… he’s… he decided that our marriage is off…”
“Oh, I’m sorry… should you really be visiting another man though, so short a time after you’re marriage?” However he slipped his arms around her, pulling her to his chest.
“That’s not the point… it’s that, I didn’t feel anything… if anything, I just was relieved!” She managed to gasp out.
“Oh…”
“Have I been a bad wife?”
“No. Don’t think that.” He grasped her face between his hands and pulled her close until their foreheads were pressed together.
“Come on. It’ll be alright,” He closed his eyes and hoped that he could always keep her tears away.
- Unimaginable
She couldn’t imagine anything that would hurt as much as this. They were stuck here together, fenced off from those who they thought loved them, stuck here with Russia. She couldn’t unsee the horror in his eyes as he pounded against the wall. His screams as his world fell apart. She stood beside him. Feeling just as betrayed. Feeling just as hurt. Feeling just as foreboding as the dark shape of Russia approached.
- Vacation
“Amazing,” Elizabeth gasped as she saw the water sparkling bright blue, with silvery fish shinning deep in the depths.
“I’m glad you think so,” grinned the honey skinned girl beside her. Elizabeth breathed in deeply.
“I’ve never seen the ocean before.”
“You’ve seen it off Germany,” grumped the light haired boy hiding under a parasol and a wide brimmed hat.
“Not like this, I haven’t,” she snapped, “This is… so amazing. And the sun, off Germany it’s foggy and cold most of the year.” Gilbert seemed put out by her comment. The native girl looked between them and laughed.
“Wow, you guys are just like a married couple!”
“WE ARE NOT!” They yelled back in unison.
- Watching
Marie was small. She couldn’t argue with the logic in that. Locked between powerful countries, the small country of Liechtenstein was good at watching. Watching gave her the knowledge of when to avoid conflicts with those around her. Watching also told her how people felt about each other. She could see that Austria probably didn’t love his wife more than a friend. (He probably valued his music more). She could see that Hungary was really in an inner conflict with herself. She could see that Germany regretted the war, but not his friendships formed then. She could see that Prussia missed being on his own, but that he missed having friends and love more. And she could see that her friend was in love with the man she claimed she hated.
- Xyst*
The breeze gently stirred through the ruins. The villa had been abandoned for a long time, the trees lining the walkway were overgrown, and the paved path had grass and weeds poking up from the cracks. Elizaveth sighed and settled herself at the bottom of a tree, resting her head against the smooth bark. She let her mind wander, remembering days long gone by, days when she ran wild with the horses. Days when she took care of two budding empires. One who vanished from their land to live in the archives of history. The other who stayed behind to mourn. The days when she fought violently in the wars. She wondered if she chose the right side.
She realized that nothing was the same. Crying children all grew up. Beautiful buildings all fell down. That hearts could grow cold… and they could grow warm. Her eyes flew open.
Jumping to her feet, she rushed off to find the man whom she wanted.
The shaded walk overgrew and stayed silent. But when you listen carefully you can hear the quiet whispers of memories that stay caught among the twined leaves.
*A shaded walk in a Roman Villa. Thank God for Dictionaries.
- You Promised
“Gilbert. You promised me that you would meet me here.” Hungary snapped into her mobile phone.
“I am here! You’ve just missed me.” He explained, exasperated. He leaned against the balcony railing, looking down at the crowd.
“You’re blaming it on me!?” Gilbert grinned as he spotted the woman far below, stomping the ground far below. Ah, here was the work of modern technology, as he could hear every swear word she threw at him over the phone. He laughed.
“What is it, Beilschmit?” She grouched.
“Oh nothing, just that I saw you almost murder that little boy when you threw that apple.”
“No I didn’t- wait, how did you see that? You’re not hiding in a bush again, are you?”
“My dear Elizaveth, kicking that innocent bush will not help you find me.”
“YOU ARE WASTING MY MINUTES! IT’S EXPENSIVE TO MAINTAIN A MOBILE!” She screamed into the phone. Gilbert sighed, holding the phone away form his ear.
“Please do not try to amputate my ear through sound. Look up.” He watched the woman below raise her head and glare at the sky. She began to scan that building. He waved leisurely as she spotted him. Through his phone he could hear her muttered threat and then the busy tone as she hung up. He laughed as she stormed through the crowd and into the building. It was time to find a new hiding place before he lost his head. It was really so much fun to bother her though.
- Ze End
Long days lead to night. Gilbert repeated his mantra in his head as he let himself into his house, tired and exhausted from working all day trying to sort out stupid problems. He dumped his briefcase on the table and his shoes by the door. As he waked through the dark house he stripped of his shirt and changed his trousers for a pair of pyjama pants. He opened the door and stepped into the bedroom. He smiled. Elizaveth lay curled up on the comforter, her eyes closed and her mouth slightly open. He gave a contented sigh and curled himself around her, falling asleep with his face pressed against her hair. The perfect ending to a not-so-perfect day.
****
I don't like these last ones as much. The later half of the alphabet seems to have all the bum letters in it. :(
Oh, and one last one.
BONUS: Vampires (from the theme posted on the Prussia/Hungary Community)
“ARGH!” Screamed Elizaveth, hurling the black book across the room. It made a dull thunk as it hit the unfortunate person walking past the door and felt to the ground (with yet another thunk) and landed with the pages splayed under the horrible cover.
“Jesus, woman!” yelled the fair haired boy who had been hit with the book, “What is wrong with you?!”
“That- that monstrosity! It’s disgusting! It’s so fake and, and- urgh!” she screamed, pointing at the book on the floor. Gilbert grumbled something about PMSing women and leaned down to scoop up to book.
“Hey! I like this book,” he exclaimed, “How can you not like it?”
“You can read?”
“Haha, very funny. I mean, come on, it’s about vampires!”
“Gilbert, they SPARKLE. S-P-A-R-K-L-E!”
“So?”
“So?! It’s stupid! That’s what! And the characters are flat and are inexplicably attracted to things that could kill them!” Elizabeth responded.
“I think it’s hot.” Elizabeth stared dumfounded at the boy.
“I- what, you… you… that’s disgusting!” She recoiled, attempting to put the chair between her and the boy who was advancing on her.
“Hey, come on, don’t you want me to bite you?”
“NO! Get away, you pervert!” Elizabeth threw the chair at him, as it was not making an effective blocking device. Gilbert dodged and tackled her.
“Come on, I could be your Edward Cullen,” he said with a grin.
By the way, yes, Twilight is what I first think of when I hear 'vampire' these days. I hate it. It's such a stupid book.
... But it would be alright if it got some Prussia/Hungary going ... no, do not be tempted!
Anyways, I don't really know what to work on next, as my scanner is broken and I can't do any big fanart. So I was wondering if anyone wanted to request a drabble or two? (Hetalia, of course)
Just a warning though, I'm not too into yaoi (heterosexual pairings gaiz) so if you want to request yoai it will probaby come out like friendship. Also, please keep requests under a PG-13 rating. Just tell me what characters, and then give me a rough idea and/or a theme.
I will probably only be able to do the first five-ten requests, however.
See you!
