I start interviewing for my department tomorrow.

Why be nervous- if you're hiring people that's a good sign that howcool is taking off.

I'm glad the business is taking off..I've just never done the whole manager thing before.

You'll be fine. Just look at their resumes, see if they have the proper skills for the job- good communication added in is a plus, and separate the good ones out from the bad. You know what you're looking for in your department you have been working it for four years; Cat is right. If Jim trusts you to hire people, you are probably ready and able.

I hope so..I bombed the first one this morning, but luckily she wasn't the type fo person I want in my department. =/

She's right you know. Besides if Jim trusts you enough to interview people that's a really good sign that he has faith in your judgement.

I've never done a job interview before though. I just hope I don't choke and end up looking stupid. =(

Ok look at it this way, if you do happen to choke and look stupid (which everyone does) you can either nicely explain that you're an interview virgin...or if they laugh at you; YOU HAVE THE POWER to crush their employment hopes and dreams...lol...feel the power of denial!
