Intel's Rebranding

In my earlier post about the future of Intel, we got to see their new logo, which is the one below. Apparently it's not just a logo change they're doing, it's a whole rebranding of the company (see Citibank and Banco de Oro for more examples of rebranding) that signifies its shift away from it's core business in PCs to consumer electronics. I'm not sure, but the older logo had a laxer feel to it (intel inside looks slightly handwritten) and made it seem more palatable for a consumer perspective. I think the campaign works even with this new goal.

I just can't wait for Intel-based Apple products.

what's neat is that they're calling their mobile processor "core" rather than "pentium m" - rumours say apple's gonna use it as part of their marketing campaign: apple core. :P
