Well the last few days have been quiet as of late. The major project that I've been working on for the past couple of months (February or so) came in just after I got back from Animazement and I had to spring into action and work a lot of hours. Finally, it has been turned in and I've rested for the past few days. So what have I been up to?
- Cleaned up some things finally. It's hard to keep up with it these days. Especially when you have so many things to deal with. Which is why during the weekend I got to at least get rid of some of it. Still though, it's a work in progress.
- Got a new prescription for glasses and contacts (Yeah, now I can get some colored contacts :) ). It didn't turn out too bad now that I think about it. My eyes are healthy, but my eyesight slightly got worse. Of course that's normal. Got to ask a couple of questions concerning the lasik surgery, but I don't think I'll be doing that anytime soon.
- In the cleaning department (especially the Video Games department), I played through the first few minutes of a couple of games and started to chop away at the immense stack of PS2 games that I had. I've taken the advice of my other friends on how to take out this immense stack and find the games that I enjoyed the most. The eventual goal is to get it down to where the games I want to play the most will fit in a 50 cd case booklet and that's pretty much it. Of course there's always exceptions. The other goal is to try to trade the rest of the games that I don't want to play and trade them for something else. So if you're looking for a particular game that I'm wanting to send to a good home, I'll post up the list at one point or another in the next few weeks. Either that, or I'd like to donate them to a children's hospital or some place that would take them and utilize them to help out others out.
- Got to catch up on some anime. Taking the same advice from others, I'm enjoying the shows I'm currently seeing. Since, let's face it there's so many choices in terms of anime, video games, etc., one has to pick their time wisely. So I've gone through the synopsis of the ones I was interested in and then done at least the first 4 episodes. If I'm not hooked on the premise after 4 it's not worth to continue on. The end result is a good amount, but not quite a lot to weigh down all my time.
- I got to house sit for a couple that I know and took care of their 2 dogs (2 black labs). I don't usually have that many interactions with pets (since I never any big pets to take care of like dogs or cats). I do say that the experience taking care of them was good, but it is a lot of work and time to focus on.
- Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete - Liked it, and even though it was longer, it made more sense this time around and didn't seem so confusing. As always the music was top notch. Even the new end theme was interesting.
- Got to catch up with folks online and in RL for once and not just for a couple of minutes. I should do it more often, but it always seems to be bad timing with folks. I always hope that folks are doing alright, but I know folks have their things to do and so do I. So I can always hope that I'll catch up with them at some point.
- So E3 rolled through. There was a lot of games and previews to see. I was somewhat interested in some of the big ones. Modern Warfare 2, Bayonetta, Gran Turismo 5, and then there's MAG. MAG interests me the most because of the team based FPS action that may ensue. I'm hoping it will be great, but I'll definitely wait until it gets through the first shakedown of the system.
- Thought about D-day on Saturday. For all the folks that had family or family friends go through that day I salute you and thank you all. If it wasn't for their sacrifice, none of these things we have would have existed, and I'm grateful for that. Made me think about what my grandparents may have done in the Philippines to help in the war effort. I never got to ask because most of my grandparents have passed on. I'm sure there are stories and I'd like to hear them from my family before they are lost. In this life, we must never forget these stories/memories or we invite the chance to repeat the same mistakes and invite the horrors that may have befallen us before. Just a thought.
- On another thought. Anybody got suggestions for glasses for me? Been trying to figure out what type and shape should I go for (Since my glasses are a couple of years old.) for the past day or so. So if you have suggestions, I would love to hear them.
Well that's pretty much it for me. Unfortunately, the next big project just came out recently and I'll be on and off through the summer. So hopefully I'll catch up with all of you sometime soon. Then there's always Dragon*con, so we'll see how it goes. Take care and stay safe out there everybody.
- Ed :)
