Dumbest Camping Trip Ever

So, here we are! All geared up and ready to hit the Eastern Sierra Nevadas, all the way in California! Departure is far later than intended, but still a good possibility of making it to the other side of Utah before extreme tiredness sets in! Jack is peeking out the truck window wondering why I'm not driving already!

Soooo...

Did you bring the land rover along so you could go home when the truck blew up? Or was there some other reason you where towing the land rover?

It fits between rocks and trees better than the truck. I tend to put large gashes in the truck when out exploring ghost towns, mining camps and remote fishing sites. ...and it's a good backup vehicle...

I'd say if it seems to be running fine, it's probably not destroyed. Engines are pretty hardy, if you catch stuff in time. Though, it might never seem to run right again, and forever be having odd little problems here and there.

So, what was this trip supposed to be about?

Haven't been camping with the parents at the traditional family campsite near Bridgeport, CA since 2009. A typical trip looks a lot like this and the following entries. Hiking, fishing and exploring ghost towns and mining camps.
