* Cut Federal Contract Spending By At Least 10 Percent * Cut Waste In Federal Budget * Improve Contracting Operations * Pay For Job Programs By Cutting Spending Elsewhere * Reinstate PAYGO * Restore Earmark Spending To Pre-1994 Levels
(during his term of course)
Hmm, don't see "balanced budget" in any of the online lists of campaign promises Obama made...
fine, then here are some things I believe to be factsgomezaJuly 29 2009, 13:09:18 UTC
1. Spending drives economies.
2. Economies go into the toilet when both people and companies stop spending (regardless of their reasons).
3. SOMEONE has to spend more money for the economy to recover.
So who does that leave beside the government? I've stopped caring about the national debt. It became (arguably, sure, blah-blah) impossible to repay the national debt without a social upheaval (with accompanying humanitarian crisis) before I was born. If you are hoping for the national debt to be repaid, you are hoping for the end of the American way of life as we know it, full stop.
