I am so very tired but I can't go to sleep, it's like I am afraid to sleep or something. Oh, sigh. Thank you helpme__rhonda and christianeee for the virtual gifts, so sweet <3.

"'Can a magician kill a man by magic?' Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. 'I suppose a magician might,' he admitted, 'but a gentleman never could.'"

I really love The Master and Margarita.

I also liked Gone with the Wind and The Mists of Avalon series.

Those are on the more literary side I suppose.

I keep trying to make my way through it and losing my place but Colin Powell's autobiography is also pretty good.

I used to read all the time and can try to think of more if those aren't good enough or of any interest to you.

LORD BYRON? Fuck yeah I love that whore. I'm downloading it fer ser.

I liked Tess of the D'Urbervilles but it's a long read and if you have Jude the Obscure, you'd see that it can be dry at times.

As always, I suggest anything by Virginia Woolf because I love her way too much for my own good. You can try Orlando since it's so creative/innovative for it's era, I love the message of the book and there's a film adaptation featuring the awesome Tilda Swinton.

OMG books. It's a relief to hear Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell is actually good because whenever it seems like Everyone has read a book it is something lame. Anyway, some good ones I've read recently:

So much Thomas Hardy has been recommended already (AWESOME), but I just read A Laodicean and it was fabulous. It's one of his lesser-known works, but I don't know why. Basically, proto-feminist inherits castle & wants to renovate it, both the architect she hires and the ousted heir of the castle fall in love with her. What's a girl to do. In my head I have subtitled this 2 Dudes, 1 Castle. It's like Thomas Hardy knew that we would be into Victorian sensationalism and talking about gender in 100 years.

Also, Stephen Fry's The Liar is complicated and absurd. I don't think I'd ever finished a book laughing until this one.

&& I just read Perfume because I have to read books before I see their corresponding movies. You will make this face D: a lot, but Grenouille is strangely tolerable if you picture Ben Whishaw despite being a

teehee, yes, I've heard that Grenouille is supposed to be fuuuug but when I read Perfume I know I'm just going to see Ben's fine self all up in my head~~.

And lol. 2 Dudes, 1 Castle. Do you mind if I incorporate that in someway on my tumblr?

Have you read Little Bee? It's so heartbreaking. It will definitely make you cry, unless, you like, don't have a heart or something.
