I don't think I can remember ever being as mad as I am right now. Of course, I have lost memories since arriving here, so that's not saying much of anything.

Can he not come home, even for a single minute? Of course not, he can't be bothered. Nevermind the things I went through the past two days, especially last night.

You were the one who was there that night, right? The one whose voice was rather calming...

I'm sorry about what happened--my first impression was not the best. That aside... is there any way I could help?

I was the one that was there, with Logan and Yachiru.

You were upset. There's no need to explain yourself. If there's anything I can think of, I'll be sure to let you know. As of right now, I'm not even sure what needs to be done.

But do you find it odd, that people are going missing all of a sudden? Rikku, now Logan?

... thank you. This might sound strange, but what exactly is happening? I was away for a while and just recently returned home. However, I have been informed that Logan went missing. There's chaos all over the network...

Yes, I do find it odd. Moreover... I had a little discussion with Rikku, and the more I thought about it, the less anything seemed to add up or make any sense. I think I have it now, but the only way it would truly make sense is if Rikku had actually lied to me. I don't want to think she has... but if she hasn't, then my hypothesis goes down the drain.

Logan... has done some things. He isn't himself. He killed a man last night. He's refusing to come home. He's just...being...

Well. That all isn't important.

Hm. I know Logan is lying to me. I can sense it. I would follow your gut instinct about whether or not Rikku is lying to you. Generally, that instinct is right. What...what do you think happened to her, if you don't mind me asking?

I understand. I suppose it really is too dangerous to cross paths with him now, but I could try if you want.

... then as much as I worry about it, I'd have to conclude that she'd lied to me. Shortly after her disappearance, Professor Hojo made mention that Rikku was supposed to have met him but didn't show up. Just recently, Rikku found me--we talked, and I asked her about her appointment with him. She claims that she never got there, that she was 'gone' before getting there. After I got back, I asked Hojo if he'd like her to reschedule--he claimed that the opportunity had already passed.

Somehow, all of that seems way too convenient.

Aside from this, a friend named Misao who was assisting in the search was hinted toward Hojo and requested information about him. She had tried to warn me earlier that Hojo is known to conduct projects wherein Jenova cells are injected into choice experiments.

Assuming that Rikku lied to me and that she did, in fact, meet with Hojo... it's possible that she was injected with Jenova during that period ( ... )
