What are mothers like? I mean, I know now what happens biologically, but if there's a whole day for them...

event: mother's day, family: ain't got no momma

I never knew my mother. She moved overseas when I was one.

My mom's kind of quiet, but determined. She does costume design and dressing for plays and musicals, sometimes Noh, so she wasn't always around, but she was always supportive even if that was just by txt message; she'd always be proud of my achievements and poke me to do my best.

I haven't really seen her for two years.

Why not? You haven't been here that long, have you?

Mother's are like dads but softer.

Like...OK I had my biological mom who was always really nice as far as I can remember and so proud of me and was positive someday I'd be a superstar. She helped my dad save my life when I got sick by manipulating my genes.

Then I have my adopted mother Rita or "Elastigirl". She helped teach me some of the more compassion based reasons that you choose to be a super hero.

Either way a mother takes care of you, teaches you and makes you feel safe...which I guess could go for either parent but yeah.

That's really lovely.

How come you have two?

Well see my first mom was the one that gave birth to me...but she died in an accident with my father. I was adopted by another couple later and became part of their family and their superhero team.

I barely remember my mother, but I do remember a warm voice calling out to me, telling me to go out and play with my brother and be back in time for dinner. Hugs and kisses when I was crying because I was hurt or because Andros and Zhane didn't want to bring me along to play.

//laugh

I also remember Andros getting in trouble for that.

Actually, I'm not sure. Our home planet was attacked a long time ago, and there was an evacuation, but it's been years and my brother hasn't found our parents among any of the refugees. So we're not exactly sure.

Moms... make things okay. They're there so they make things better when they go wrong. They're there so they can listen to you... they... so they can be proud... and...

gods, I can't do this...
