Don't you hate it...

... when bloody tree snakes get inside the walls of your house? I was taking out the garbage and saw one slide into a hole in the brickwork.

I know they're a protected/endangered/something species of non-venomous snakes, but still, I hate the fact that I've now got to label my laundry room a "WTF watch where you step" zone. I don't want to kill the ( Read more... )

You are absolutely not convincing me to come to Australia. Ever.

So, am I guessing this isn't normal in America? O_o

Snakes going inside the walls of houses isn't common, but finding them in the backyard here isn't exactly a novel experience either...

*chuckles*

If you tell someone around here you saw a snake in the backyard the won't believe you... if you tell them you have one in your walls, they will tell you to get you medication fixed... XD

We just have one species anyway and I can remember seeing... huh... like three (?) in the last 34 years...
But I didn't see snakes when I was in Australia either, so maybe something is wrong with me?

Nothing wrong with you, it just depends where you go. I live quite a while away from the city, and in acreage, which means I've got a lot of scrubby environment for snakes to live in. :P

GAH. I do not like snakes at all D: I inherited my dad's fear of them.

(Here in Midwestern America, snakes are a rather rare occurrence. And also, it's about 10 degrees Fahrenheit right now, which translates to FREAKING COLD degrees Celsius, if I'm not mistaken. Snakes wouldn't stand a chance. Yay~)

Isn't there someone like Billy the Exterminator around where you are? I imagine that'd be great for business.

Weirdly enough, I'm perfectly at ease with reptiles. I see them quite a bit 'round these parts. My mother on the other hand... she gets absolutely terrified, lol.

Actually, a lot of people don't kill snakes. Normally we get people to relocate them when we can.

I guess constant exposure will do that for you XD I used to be pretty cool around pythons and stuff, but I started watching too much Animal Planet. Whoops!

LOL, Billy the Exterminator is more like a trapper. He prefers to release wildlife, too. I'm totally in favor of not killing the buggers, just get 'em far away from me!
