I've been restricted to dialup here, so I didn't think it was really worth it to try to write before. Today I got to see LotR finally. It was as good as I'd hoped, although once in a while I found myself confusing the minor characters and places a bit. I never finished reading the third book so I forgot some of the names, which made it hard to keep ( Read more... )

I didn't know you saw Kill Bill. Considering it was supposed to be a sort of parody of the 70s martial arts films, I thought it was pretty good. The second one comes out in February... I'd like to see it.
Lucy Liu's character was supposed to be a half-Chinese/half-Japanese who spent some of her childhood in Japan, which was why it was so sad her Japanese wasn't better.

Karate sounds like a lot of fun. Some type of kung-fu would be OK too.

Yeah, it wasn't bad, just awfully bloody. I mean, I don't mind seeing fighting in movies, but that much blood was unnecessary I think. I agree, you'd think her Japanese would be better. I guess I wouldn't mind seeing the second one since I've seen the first one now.
