sex education in its own right is a taboo. but it something that apparently we think needs to be taught. i am not sure if this in generalizing sex ed. in fact i think that it is quite the opposite, it is opening it up. i think that what we have now (i am talking about the US, not scotland) is a highly generalized apporach to sex ed. is something that only accounts for one option, and it is flattly not working, we need to talk about all types of sex, and teach proper and safe sex - we need to open the disscussion up, and not generalize it, and i think adding homosexual edcuation to the is opening it up. lets talk about gay sex, straight sex, not having sex, oral sex, safe sex, contraceptives, sex toys, etc etc etc. this is something we are going to ecnounter in our lives, and we are doing citizens and injustice thinking that we are dumbenough to belive in abstinecne only sex ed, look at the statistics, it obviously is not working
