I can be very much an environmentalist at times - but I'm not an environmentalist, I am increasingly becomming anti-Green Peace as rapidly they show themselves to be a bunch of morons - pretty much since the BSE crisis some years ago. If they had a clue, they might get some respect back ( Read more... )

I agree, nuclear power when done properly is safe and doesnt produce much waste, which can be kept safe anyway, and eventually used to destroy the sun of the alians home planet.

If every house in the country had solar panel rooves, the entirety of brittish waters were filled with wind generators and tidal turbines, maybe w could do it, I mean, their all free and dont damage the environment at all.

OK they dont give off any nuclear waste or green house gasses, but they decimate local wildlife, especially tidal and wind power. Would they accept responsibility for the last ever whale's being killed by renweable energy generators?

*AND* they miss the biggest fact, I say nuclear is the way to go, an im always right,

If done right (and by 'done right' I mean 'not privatised or run by people without any education in nuclear physics') then nuclear power is safe, efficient and doesn't destroy the environment (hell, the amount of radiation you'd get from standing next to a nuclear reactor is less than you'd get by standing outside in the sun, for the same amount of time).

Conventional power supplies destroy the environment, as do wind and sea energy, which are supposed to be 'clean'.

They're only clean if you ignore the damage they do.

Nuclear is the way forward, we have no other viable options at this stage.
