Just noting that I have a few updates. I was going to compile them all into one post but that's just too much. So here's the first.
So, walking through the mall with Ashley on Friday, and getting scammed out of $40 by one of those stupid guys who stands at those carts at Franklin Mills (you know the ones who run out and get you to try their product then rope you in to buying it even though you really don’t want to... yeah :\ ), we stopped by the pet store. I told my sister I was going to buy her cat some kitty nip so she'll go crazy, and in turn, drive her and the fiancé (you'll see) crazy. We stopped to look at the bunnies and the hamsters and such. I saw this cute little dwarf hamster and it made me really want one. Since we were still in the middle of shopping, I decided I couldn't pick it up at the moment, nor did I want to have to carry this thing through the mall with any kind of cage I'd have to buy it.
So after we were done shopping, we headed over to IHOP for breakfast/lunch (not really brunch since it was 1 in the afternoon, but we still had breakfast foods). Petsmart is right across from IHOP, so we went over there afterwards. I must have stood there a good 10 mins deciding if I really wanted to buy one or not. Finally one of the sales guys came by to ask if I needed help, so I asked him to open the one cage so I could see the hamsters better (since they were all balled up into this little igloo thing.) Again, I stood there for like 5 mins deciding if I really wanted one, then which I wanted. I decided on the one you see in the pic, mostly because I thought it was cute that he had white and brown markings while his brothers were all mostly brown (sept one which was pretty much the same color). I was going to buy him a fish tank but the sales guy said they get poor ventilation in those, so I got him a regular cage that came complete with water bottle, food bowl, wheel, bedding and food.
When we were driving home, Ashley kept asking me what I was going to name it. I hadn't even thought about a name. She had suggested Huggles, Snuggles, a bunch of corny names like that. Then she suggested Artemis. I wasn't too thrilled with that one. I made a joke about naming him Pikachu. She said that was as funny as naming him Kero. Kero, the little stuffed animal/mouse looking thing from Cardcaptors, sounded like a cute name. So I ended up going with that ^^ I should also note that Ashley really wants to be "part owner" of him. Her mom and aunt won't let her keep anything at her aunt's house, and since she pretty much lives there now, she won't be having any pets like that at her actual house. I told her sure. Not like she'll actually do anything for it other than come over my house to play with it.
He was actually pretty good for me when I was picking him up to put him into his new little home. He hasn't bitten me...yet. I can tell he's still not sure, but he's taking a good liking to his home.
Note him climbing up the sides of it hehe. He only did it the first day, I haven't seen him try it again.
Saturday I went out and bought him a few more things. Got him his own little igloo to sleep in, some chew sticks and treats. I was going to buy him a ball, but then my mom saw next to them these hamster cars. She thought it was funny, so I got him that. I'll have to get a picture of him "driving" in it hehe.
