It is amazing the amount of children's songs that came about out of macabre circumstances....ring around the rosy...and delectibly sinister occasions...when the bough breaks the cradle will fall...and of course there are the aptly-named authors of the Grim Tales (I'd like to meet the young girl who would survive being swallowed by a wolf-- I am sure the presence would be exquisite).
