For the unfamiliar, "Varney the Vampyre: Restoration Punk" is a graphic novel project Vlad Quigley began over 20 years ago and, a true labour of love, it has taken this long to do the tale true justice. Story and art by Quigley, modelling courtesy of Ms. Jessica Jaymes.
Set in 17th Century England, the comic is extensively researched & written in the elegant style of language used at the time (similar to Shakespeare) - often paraphrasing many of the important writers of the period... including Aphra Behn, John Wilmot (the Earl of Rochester), Ned Ward, John Milton, John Evelyn, Daniel Defoe, Jean Baptiste Poquelin Moliere, Thomas Middleton, Jonathan Swift, John Dryden, Andrew Marvell, Anne Bradstreet, Samuel Pepys, Ben Jonson, John Bunyan, etc!
It also includes authentic costumes, settings, history, period-detail and the 17th Century popular usage of symbolism (including a fully-working "Varney the Vampyre: Restoration Punk" tarot deck that can be used separate to the graphic novel).
There are also cameo appearances from King Charles I, Lord Protector Oliver Cromwell, Queen Anne, highwaymen, graverobbers (Resurrection Men), plague doctors, wenches and many more!
Jessica Jaymes's likeness appears throughout as the female lead Lady Flora Bannerworth as well as other female roles.
In keeping with the punk rock bawdiness of the Late Stuart Period (and, in particular, the writings of John Wilmot, Samuel Pepys & Ned Ward) "Varney the Vampyre: Restoration Punk" is an erotic "adults only" comic with explicit sexual scenes intended for a female erotica audience. Unfortunately the serialised publisher for "Varney the Vampyre: Restoration Punk", Carnopolis Magazine, is sadly no more. This is such a personal shame as the publisher is a very good friend of mine, his support has been incredible, I know how hard he has worked and I sincerely wish him all the best for future endeavours. It may well be that Carnopolis will return at a later date, but not for now.
However Varney the Vampyre is proof that you certainly can't keep a good vampire down for long!

"Varney the Vampyre: Restoration Punk" (by Vlad Quigley and featuring Hustler Magazine's contract star Jessica Jaymes) will be serialised MONTHLY in FULL COLOUR for FREE on Vlad Quigley's websites.
Unfortunately the serialised publisher for "Varney the Vampyre: Restoration Punk", Carnopolis Magazine, is sadly no more. This is such a personal shame as the publisher is a very good friend of mine, his support has been incredible, I know how hard he has worked and I sincerely wish him all the best for future endeavours. It may well be that Carnopolis will return at a later date, but not for now.
However Varney the Vampyre is proof that you certainly can't keep a good vampire down for long!

Hollywood sex symbol Jessica Jaymes officially became London gothic artist Vlad Quigley's exclusive contract muse at the start of 2005, appearing as the female likeness throughout Quigley's art. However the hostess art of her has only been unveiled this week and more is to come.
For the unfamiliar, Jessica Jaymes is Hustler Magazine's contract star and one of the most famous & most beautiful porn stars in the world. Jessica is part Seminole Indian (regular fans know virtually every Vlad model is either Native American or of Native American descent!), she has a great goth look and stars in the "Varney the Vampyre: Restoration Punk" online graphic novel by Vlad Quigley.
With her wit and warmth, Jessica is the Nell Gwyn of Quigley's 17th Century Varney the Vampyre art. Nell Gwyn was the most famous of King Charles II's mistresses, the self-styled "Protestant Whore" and, with her feisty fun punk rock attitude, Nell Gwyn is still one of the best-loved, coolest, most adored women in English history!
