Today I saw a sad sight; A three year old, obviously over-weight, was arguing with her mother in Ralph Lauren. The argument ended with the mother stating they were moving on to the next store, and with that the girls older brother, also over-weight, came up to her with a cheap stroller. This goes hand in hand with the mother that not only leaves her over weight or very spoiled selfish child in the stoller but somehow believe that once this child is in the stroller: wow! the stroller has automatically become a human being that can physically watch their child as they wander off and even forget their child exists. Not only are they ignoring the weight their child is putting on by the second by not forcing them to walk, they are ignoring them completely by leaving them in the stoller to be unsupervised therefore likely to think such behavior that is ok at home is ok in public. I was so excited to read your thoughts on this subject. The weight problem goes all the way up the river. I'd venture to say that the mother of those children was probably over weight too [which takes me back to the Old Testement description of the women after the chosen people had arrived in the Promised Land... they are referred to as "fat cows" Ouch!] Thank God you and at least one young woman are sensitive to the problem of over-eating in this country! God bless you both... Best wishes to you, Nick. I love you... xo Mom
