OMG... THAT'S where I saw Bones!! I kept thinking, WHY does he look so familiar! :D

But you forgot that Chris Pine was the gorgeous guy who attempted to woo Anne Hathaway in "The Princess Diaries 2." :) The minute I heard he was cast as Captain Kirk, I was in raptures. ^.^b

Seriously, this movie addressed the fans, and it introduced new fans to the franchise as well. J.J. Abrahams should be given a freakin' Oscar! :D I saw it with church friends on Thursday night at the Ziegfield, then with Ame and her SO on Saturday at an iMax theatre. And I'm gonna probably see it a third time with Ishi n' Tannim next Saturday. It was just amazing! We kept quoting the movie! :D

I cannot wait to see what the next movie will be about. *.*

Movie, heck, I'd love to see all those guys do a series together. Doubt they will though, there's a few of them that you don't see EXCEPT in film.

And yes, I know Chris Pine was Kirk (I knew I had recognized him, but it wasn't until I pulled up IMDB earlier today that I realized where I knew him from) I just don't get all fan-girly for him :P

"Damnit, I'm a doctor, not a physicist!"

The thing I liked was that it delved a little bit more into the personalities - everyone knows Hikaru Sulu is a master fencer, but I think there are all of TWO episodes in the original series that reference it. And it isn't in any of the movies. (Which makes me wonder if it was something wrote in without finding out if George Takai was good with a blade.)

And I thought it was HIGHLY appropriate how Mr. Scott first came to the Enterprise.

There were just SO many instances I can quote:

"I'm givin' her all she's got, Capt'!"

"That pointy-eared, green blooded, hobgoblin!"

"What's your hand to hand training?" "Fencing." XD XD

"Did you leave the parking break on?"

And yes, I loved the fact that this was totally a character-driven movie. Each one of them got their moment "to shine" in the movie, and we also got to see some never-before seen background information about some of the characters, and I think it made for a much richer movie.

And how cool was the "in-the-movie" reason for the reboot? XD Seriously, if JJ Abrahams doesn't direct the next movies, I'll be pissed off.

Hehe, yeah, Ain and I discussed that the entire way home from the movie. We also both thought that Leonard Nimoy was having the time of his life in this movie. XD He looked as giddy as a schoolboy.

Agreed. Although, as I said, I'd watch it religiously if they turned it into a TV series.

I have to wait until this weekend. Can't take babies to theatres. Well, you can, but you can also get mobbed by people who fully expect said baby to cry through the movie. Don't feel like explaining to them all that this particular kid slept through a meal at a rainforest themed place complete with thunderstorms, trumpeting elephants, a troop of gorillas, and a bunch of monkeys (animatronic).

I'm all for the de-shatnerization of the franchise, though.

It was SO. GOOD.

I'm gonna see it again asap! I walked out of the theater and my first thought was: "I've gotta see that again. A few times."

The great part is that the movie was accessible to EVERYONE. Especially girl geeks like me, who lurvs her some eye candy!

All these positive comments makes the rebel in me want to go 'It sucked!', but the fangirl in me would have herself a blood bath ;P

All I can say is it was pure awesome.
