Hell, I wouldn't mind playing a good tabletop game. I wouldn't even mind learning Warhammer, though I won't touch 40k.

And yeah, nothing really replaces a good tabletop RPG. Or at least it'll be a really long, long time before you have the same type of flexibility you do in a DM/GM run RPG.
Like in the game I'm playing right now (D&D 4th Ed), early on our scout (Shifter Ranger, multiclass Rogue) went ahead of us tracking down one that "got away" (we let him go). As the shifter was doing this, he ambushed some goblins and tried to make an animal repellent. He failed his nature check... hard. Instead of making a repellent, he made some Kruthik lure. Whoops. So he spent the next few turns running around, avoiding the death on pointy legs before he was able to hide in a tree. Well, later on the rest of us arrive and we make our way to the dungeon which we need to clear out (kidnapped citizens to save and stolen treasures to recover!), and in the first room we hear sounds of ( ... )
