We've had some eight inches of snow and another few inches of ice today, basically shutting down the city. Universities were closed, as were most dining establishments, retail stores, you name it. So naturally, when my mom decided to run to the gas station to get coffee, I decided she was crazy ( Read more... )

LOL. My roommate just dug her car out to "make sure that people can get their alcohol and smokes" at the grocery store she works at.

You're welcome to send some of that snow back out here... I'm looking out the window at blue skies and just a dusting on the hills. If we don't get another few feet of snow on the higher elevations, we'll be hurtin' come this fire-season.

Whereabout is that? The Rockies?

I *really* wish I could spread this weather out over the past few months. Christmas and New Year's were so painfully temperate that they didn't feel like the holiday season at all, so I couldn't really get into the spirit of things. I'd rather have four months of 30 degree weather than two each of 0 and 60. :/

Further West actually, Nevada- right against the Sierras. I'm about 30 minutes from Lake Tahoe.

And I feel much the same way, Most of January was (Overly cheerful weatherwoman's voice,) "Oh LOOK! We'll get all the way up to 29 degrees for our High tomorrow! Up from 25 degrees today! I think we're finally starting to warm up, folks!"
