If it hadn't been for the insistence and help of Grams, Phoebe would never have been able to afford the three bedroom house that she and Cole were renting in town. (Grams had insisted on the three bedrooms. She had wanted to make sure that Phoebe had a place to practice and build on who she was.) So she had spent the last few days rearranging

Cole returned to the apartment and looked around. "You've been busy, love," he said, settling on the couch next to her. "The movers handle everything all right?"

Phoebe laid her head on his shoulder and nodded.

"The movers you sent got the bedroom moved up to the loft, but I had to rearrange them." She snickered. "They tried to put the bed in the closet."

Cole joined her in laughing. "Demons aren't used to the comforts of life," he said. "Only the highest ranked have that kind of thing. Most just have straw for a bed and that's about it."
