Thanks. Growing up with one parent who was Catholic and one who was Orthodox really made me have to understand some of the dating issues, because I would get asked about them.

As for the alternate gospel accounts, since I don't believe the bible is word for word true and non-contradicting, it's not a problem to talk about the gospel accounts not matching. They don't and that's fine. The reasons why they don't match are much more interesting than trying to figure out why the do. The fact that I don't believe the bible is word for word true does not mean that it is in any way less relevant or important. That's the issue I have with some of the Christian communities that I read. Apparently the Bible must be both literal and authoritative or neither. I believe that it can be authoritative without being literal.

Anyway, that's my rant and now I'm off to work.
