There is lots of neat science stuff out there (knitting as models for physics, the earliest ritual cite found to date, etc.) that I come across. Is there any interest here or at a different journal for me to do a science blog once a week about such things?

A bunch of people on my friend's list are going through emotional turmoil at the moment. To all of them . . . I'm sorry I was out of town and I hope things go well for all of you.

Two people from my church choir are performing in these operas. As I will be out of the country, I can't go, but I am shamelessly plugging them because they just sound really amusing. There really are jumping frogs who sing "plop" as they jump, rabid raccoons who foam at the mouth, and cat sex on stage while signing on a 4 inch window sill. It ( Read more... )

I have a friend from high school who teaches at an inner city school. She does a postcard project where she asks people to send postcards from all over the US and the world to her students and they put them up on the board during the year.
