[The first thing that causes Melanie to stir is the pain in her back. Then it's the feeling of raindrops pummeling her back and... the taste of sand in her mouth.]

Ugh! [Immediately she pushes herself up and works to wipe away all of the sand, although she winces slightly when she hears a clap of thunder

Yeeeeah. Same story for pretty much everybody when they first get here. So, you need any help? You could say I'm something of an expert on this place.
