[They spliced her. They kidnapped her and they spliced her. Sure, giving her wings when she arrived is one thing, but she didn't volunteer to be taken away so they could give her scales, fangs, mess with her eyes and get rid of her hair. She can't be out like this - she needs to get back into her apartment, and... stay there until she changes back

[Too bad one of her friends happens to have excellent night vision and often patrols the town at night. Kurt doesn't notice anything odd about her as she's walking on by, at least not from where he's at, but he does start following her. As he gets closer though, some things start to look... strange to him.]

[This desire to avoid being seen already has Melanie on edge, and after spending most of her life as a professional thief, it isn't very hard for her to realize when she's being followed. So much for staying hidden.

Depending on how much Kurt is paying attention, he may be able to hear the agitated hiss that comes before she speaks.]

[Man. Kurt really needs to work on this sneaking thing. He relies too much on his own natural abilities and not enough on, well, knowing anything about stealth. He relents and drops from the roof he's on.]

I've had better days. [To put it incredibly lightly. However, Melanie doesn't really want much attention on herself right now, so she'll change the subject.]

You only missed, like, everything. There's this huge "amusement park" now, did you know that? Been here a couple days. Lotta fun. You should think about going! [ ... though he doesn't sound as enthusiastic as he normally might. He suspects something is up. Normally he'd let it slide right on by, but if it had to do with the Malnosso... ]

Yeah, I heard about the amusement park. Sounds like it could be fun, but it doesn't really make up for the whole kidnapping and experimenting thing. [Not as far as she's concerned, anyway.]
