I really love this. Adoring Balthier and Fran, adoring Vaan and Panelo. (And for the record watching Penelo wield a weapon half her size is hilarious. Though I haven't tried her with handaxes yet.)

Pirate partners are great joy. Fran and Balthier, particularly, just make me want to write more and more but Balthier talks too much and I get worried I'll ramble.

(Penelo is, I dunno, MAGIC or something. She uses almost everything in my second play-through; check her out with polearms at least half a head taller than her!)

(That's kind of like my first playthrough with both Ashe and Fran ... I'd admit I still harbor girlish crushes on both of them.)

Every time you feel like Balthier is rambling too much, just have Fran smack him upside the head. That should cut down the dialog a bit. ;)

Ooh, good idea; poor Fran needs to babysit the boy even in head-canon. Wonder what she'd do with silence, though...
