windows xp looks different than what microsoft had before??
wow if thats true.. then i definately dont notice things
lol

I cant think of any questions ive had for xp though.. i rather like it. Its pretty and easy and does what its told.. most of the time.

I do have a question for you though, and anyone else who has ever been on my computer at brock. There is a picture on my computer (its called tyler.jpg i think) it is under the recieved documents on the 'other' account on my computer, the one i don't use, and its the only thing in there. The picture is of a guy in a girl's bathingsuit and it was put on my computer in january i think. Um who is it? and why is it there??
im confused...

oh boy do i ever have q's for you!!!

--> if i have a password protectected acct, how come the files can be browsed to by other users on their own accts? where can i hide the files?

--> how come a game installed on my user name does not run on my sisters username?

--> can you change the icons for IE and other program files, and if so, HOW!?!?!?

--> windows classic style has many customizable colour choices for the windows boxes (ie the title bar on a program or the buttons at the bottom, etc.) windows xp style only has 2 :( how do i get more and customize my colours more without ruining my computer?

--> how do people get pretty startup pictures? i could change them on 2000, but i can't change them on xp :(

and in case you didn't already think of these... outline the difference bw log off and switch user (how programs stay active etc) cause that confused me for awhile. be sure to describe how to set up passwords and change the picture icon and the name for the profile after it's created, that also blew my mind at first :)

well this Windows XP FAQ page is for internal users with Levi's, so they won't be able to change their own picture profile and whatnot... But allow me to answer as many of your questions off the top of my head. If the answers are wrong, lemme know and I'll browse the internet to find a solution.

if i have a password protectected acct, how come the files can be browsed to by other users on their own accts? where can i hide the files?

The files can be browsed by other people because you're not putting them where other people won't be able to look. The files have to be stored under you name in 'c:\documents and settings\' (example: c:\documents and setting\Trevor\My Pictures\)

how come a game installed on my user name does not run on my sisters username?

When you initially install a newer game, it will prompt you with the choice to install the game either for everyone, or yourself only... Could be that you chose to install for yourself only, OR it's an older game that doesn't support that feature... solution? Make a shortcut to ( ... )

can you change the icons for IE and other program files, and if so, HOW!?!?!?

On my PC right now, I can just right click on the icon, choose 'properties', then click the 'change icon' button.... hmmm, I just tested that on our XP machine and it brought up internet options, I see your dilema, I'll have to research that one

I also checked here, and we don't have the 'switch user' option. I guess it makes sense cause at the end of the day you try to log off and then it says someone else is logged on and you'll have to go find them and ask them if it's okay to shut down the computer.

cancel all further questions

Boss likes it, he told me to consider the project complete.
