I had a lovely weekend with
linaerys. We grilled steak (and by "we" I mean "I"), mushrooms, tomatoes, peppers, and onions, then drank wine and watched 300, which she had never seen, and called "beautifully-shot battle porn."
Did the Filthy Fifty the day before yesterday, and I am still sore from it. There are so many exercises in the Filthy Fifty that I had to write them down on my arm:
-50 Box Jumps (forgot to write these down on my arm, so forgot to do them)
-50 Jumping Pull-ups (subbed in 52-pound assist Gravitron pull-ups for these and ended with 2-rep sets)
-50 35-pound Kettle bell swings (did these all in a row, as Rx'd!!)
-50 Walking lunges
-50 Knees-to-elbows (subbed 95-pound floor wipers, five sets of 10)
-50 Push Press 45-pound (did these in five sets, but at the Rx'd weight)
-50 Back extensions
-50 Wall-ball shots (subbed tabata squats. I know, I know, not the same)
-50 Burpees (only could do 25 in five sets of five; at this point I was exhausted)
-50 Double Unders (here, I did the box jumps)
All told: 47:52. I shorted myself a little, but thought I had decent subs. I am still sore today, so even my subs kicked my rear.
Yesterday: kayaked to the Farmer's Market and back from my house (between three and four miles). Also hiked the gorge trail/rim trail at Buttermilk: about two miles of hilly hiking.
Today is truly going to be a rest day. I'm not doing anything physical, other than I had planted all of my new container plants. Other than that, I am going to rest everything, because everything hurts.
You can say what you want about 300 but 1.) There is a lot of eye candy 2.) It inspires me to do Crossfit 3.) The soundtrack is great. I actually downloaded it and it is full of cool stuff like middle eastern drums, electric guitar, electric violin, and other goodies.
