Row row row your boat

Rowing is the one Crossfit thing that's good for tall people. Squats? Good for short people. L-sits? Good for short people. Ring muscle-ups? Good for short people. But rowing...better if you're an elvish freak of nature like me.

My rear deltoids are still sore from the damn Filthy Fifty reason, so rather than rowing for ten minutes to warm up, I did 500 meters, just to see what my time would be. It was 1:55, which I have no idea is any good or not. But it sets a mark in any case upon which to base future 500-meter rows. I then did 10 minutes on the elliptical to warm up further. Then I attempted the Crossfit Ithaca WOD, which was five sets of five back squats, which was a set with just the bar to warm up, which I didn't count, and then 95-105-105-105-105, followed by five sets for time of 10 Kettle bell snatches per hand and 10 Burpees. My time was 12:33 with a 20-pound Kettle bell.

I realize how sad a 105-pound back squat is, but then this was only my second back squat in history and on the fifth set I could barely stand back up, and I was waaaaay below parallel. Then I finished with my typical handstand practice.

burpees, kettle bell snatches, back squats, rowing
