Abby is coming up on 4 years old and she finally is growing a winter coat! It's that little powderpuff of long white fur on her belly. She still won't let us hold her, but she is affectionate in her own way.
What a darling kitty! I have a "grumpy old man" named Scooby who I call an "abby tabby" - he has tabby stripes and Abyssinian ticking in the fur in between.
No, those kitties in the icon are just random kitties from a pic I found on the net. Abbys are notorious for being hyper, but I don't know if Scooby ever went through that phase. He was about 9 years old when I got him. A friend passed away and I inherited his cat. He'd been ill for a long time, and his cats meant so much to him - they kept him going. I promised him that if something were to happen to him (but we both knew we meant "when", not "if") I would find homes for his cats. I found home for one, and kept Scooby. He's a grumpy old man and spends most of his time lying around. I'm very happy to have him - he's a wonderful memory of my friend, and he's mostly grumpy because I have other cats and he'd rather he was the only one.

I took care of an Abyssinian for a friend once. Talk about hyper! Was Scooby hyper?
