Dude's math skills suck a full-grown Malaysian Hunting Poodle into an empty bottle of Pepsi Clear. There is no way that nobody would send it to the same people that other people are sending it to, so each "generation" would by no means multiply the total number of recipients by x where x is the average number of people to whom each sender sends it. Instead what'll happen is that anyone foolish enough to perpetuate the thing will end up seeing it again in his/her own mailbox dozens of times, as it bounces around from friend to mutual friend and back to the origin

Just for kicks, I'll throw in number 5 on the list of "Reasons This Idea Is Stupid":
5. If we all boycotted Exxon/Mobil, the other companies would not be able to supply everyone with gas (since they don't, y'know, sit around with hundreds of millions of gallons of extra gas just HOPING that everyone will suddenly stop buying Exxon/Mobil and buy from them instead). Lower supply from excluding Exxon leads to... guess? anyone? well, I'll give you a hint: not lower prices.
