Name: Cho Chang
Nicknames: none
Birthday: February 22
Age: 16
School Year: 6th year

Which House: Ravenclaw
Reasoning?: Cho is a very bright girl and quick to catch onto things. . . Also, the books have decreed it.

Appearance: Cho’s a petite Chinese girl with straight, long black hair and what many would consider a perfect complexion. She’s fit from her years of training and dedication as a Seeker for the Ravenclaw quidditch team. She loves to be seen in the latest witchy fashions and tries her best to keep up with it whenever she can.

Personality:
Cho, at first, seems to be your typical "popular" girl. She makes sure to surround herself with her closest friends and constantly gossips, giggles and chats when she's with them. She is extremely loyal to her friends, knowing that they would be there for her if she needed them. She's more likely to stand up for her friend, even if she knew that they were in the wrong, than to betray them. For the most part, she seems to be very stable and easy going. She loves to have a good time. Despite her intentions on living life to it's fullest, she can be very serious and usually wouldn't be caught dead breaking rules. If she knows something is frowned upon, she becomes extremely anxious and nervous.

Her strong sense of discipline is thanks to her years of being in Ravenclaw house and being on the Quidditch team. While she is not adverse to having fun (as mentioned before, she really quite enjoys it), she would rather first make sure her studies and other responsibilities are taken care of. Goofing off has it's time and place, unlike procrastination.

While Cho is undoubtably intelligent, she would also like to believe herself to be particularly witty. (This, however, is open for debate.) She can come up with few quippy responses, but it's easy to catch her off guard, which causes her to become flustered and become defensive.

That being said, she can be very easy to fluster. Even when she tries to come off as cool and collected, it's really easy to get under her skin. She is also extremely emotional. She becomes attatched to people or ideas easily and involves herself emotionally. If something should go wrong, she will spend her time wondering about what could have happened and what she could have done to make things better. She tends to dwell on the problems and this often leads to emotional breakdowns or crying. Sometimes both.

When in a relationship, and especially if she's already in one of her emotional fits, Cho is prone to irrational jealousy, perhaps due to her own insecurities. She is capable of jumping to conclusions and making accusatory remarks, whether or not they're justified or not.

Physical strengths of Cho's include a (very) small amount of strength. As a Seeker on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team for four years, she had to be in good shape. As Seeker, the rest of the team depended on her speed and agility and she made sure that she would not let them down. She made sure to practice Quidditch and continue to work out even in the summer time.

Mentally, Cho is extremely intelligent. As a member of the Ravenclaw house, it was always expected of her. She picks up on things quickly, having learned all the charms in the D.A. meetings with only a few set backs. While she had trouble with a few of the charms, Cho was one of the few who managed to produce a fully corporeal Patronus, in the form of a swan.

Loyalty and determination are major drives for Cho. She's very emotionally invested in her future and the future of others. She constantly proves her loyalty by first standing up for Marietta when the rest of the D.A. hounds on her for betraying them. Even though Marietta was in the wrong, Cho insists on standing up for her, proving herself unwaveringly loyal. (For the sake of the RP, this is only meant to be an example, since it is unclear of whether any of this has actually happened or would actually happen.)

Aside from her agility, Cho isn't exactly the strongest person around. She spent so much time working on her agility that she didn't see much point to working on her strength. She would always have her wand around anyways, or be able to get to it fast enough were it discarded.

While very book smart, Cho would be easily chatted up by a smooth talker. She isn't quite as street smart as others would expect her to be and is very susceptible to illusions and confunding charms. She would probably be a very good candidate to Imperius.

Canonically, most would see Cho as emotionally weak. She's prone to irrational fits of jealousy, like when Harry invited her to go with him to see Hermione while they were on their date. (For the sake of the RP’s timeline, this can be over looked, but is merely an instance of what may happen in such a situation.) When she gets down on herself, it's hard to pull her out of her slump. After Cedric's death (and for the sake of this RP, we can assume this happened to a different boyfriend of hers), Cho was hardly seen smiling and was constantly sobbing or quietly crying. It took her nearly a year to get over his death, even with all the positive things she was doing during that year.

Extra: Cho loves shopping and going out with her friends. She lives to be Seeker on the Quidditch Pitch and loves nothing more than a thrilling game of Quidditch. She does, however, put her studies above all else.

Blood Status: Pure Blood
History:
Cho grew up like any normal pureblooded witch in England. She was accustomed to magic since a young age and it was no surprise to her family when she was accepted into Hogwarts. During her childhood, she showed a fondness for reading and often picked up on learned habits fairly quickly. She had a knack for solving riddles and memorizing passages, which made it no surprise when she was accepted into Ravenclaw house.

At school, Cho rose to the top of social status as soon as there was a hierarchy to be had. She hung out with all the right girls and managed to become one of the more popular and well known of the Ravenclaw students. Of course, her Quidditch skill lent a hand to this sudden popularity for as soon as she joined the team, Ravenclaw started winning more games.

Her first serious boyfriend, a Hufflepuff, however, was in a tragic accident in her fifth year, which damaged her beyond what she could imagine. He had been very close and dear to her, so his death came as a shock and the once outgoing, witty and charming Ravenclaw girl, became depressed, moody, prone to emotional outbursts and tended to shy away from the friends she once relied on.

She’s slowly coming to terms with everything, but Cho is still finding it difficult to once more become the person she was.
