Since I breathe, drink, and eat, it's not in my best interest to vote Republican.
Since I don't believe these are The End Times and that there's no need to plan for anytime beyond next year, it's not in my best interest to vote Republican.

I just wonder, since the economy is "so bad" and them liberals like to give out money for nothing, can you really see us getting out of debt anytime in the near future? Just remember, taxing businesses and those millionaires will only decrease new job expansion.

As for your second paragraph, I dunno about giving out money for nothing. That seems to be more of a "spend and spend" Republican thing.
And yes, I can see us getting out of debt. Look at the figures for the entirety of Clinton's presidency, as opposed to the regimes of Reagan, Bush I or Bush II: When the Republicans were in the White House, taxes went down but we had recession. When we have someone fiscally responsible in the White House, taxes may be higher, but overall, the economy is MUCH better, so the debt is paid down quickly while most people actually enjoy GREATER prosperity, higher employment, and a better economy overall.
I know *I* sure as hell did.
It's just a simple fact: If you don't want to pay for it, you shouldn't be buying it. It's true for you, it's true for me, it's true for millionaires, it's true for governments.

"Last election, a majority of people *didn't* vote Republican"

I find if fascinating. For the record, I am a staunch Libertarian, and neither Republican nor Democrat.

But for most other people, it was a backlash to the effort to make the word "liberal" into an epithet on a par with "traitor".

The parties screwed each other to the point of making themselves look bad, (or at least, made us look closely at them, at which point we actually saw that they already look bad).
Trying to support a party hell bent of croneism and warmongering, or a party openly touting higher taxes and socialism...

I belong to the "Keep as much of my own money as possible. Arrest people after they break laws instead of making laws to prevent it. Expect people who reap the benefits of the system to be responsible to it. Trying reasonably hard not to look at what you're doing, and keeping our mouth shut and notebooks closed if we see something that isn't illegal."
Whoever that is this week has my support.
