caribbean only one time for our honeymoon in 1998 and it was wonderful. the closest to the cross country thing was on our way and back to a family thing in missouri when we stopped in memphis for beale st & graceland, little rockto see a friend, tennessee for the mountains. we do mini road trips sometimes, though.
we spent 18 days driving cross-country and we felt it still wasn't enough to see everything we wanted to see. therefore, i vote for the tropics. besides, you can't have fruity drinks while driving. unless it's like jamba juice or something, but that's boring.
I'm assuming you guys would end up doing an RV with a truck attachment, in which case you can't be in the RV portion while it's moving because it folds in to make it more compact on the road. Unless you guys were gonna rent a monster RV, which get like 5mpg as opposed to 8mpg in a compact RV lol.
RVs are a pain in the ass and not worth the money. My grandparents did the RV thing for three years. They constantly bitched about gas and how expensive it was dealing with the different campgrounds and shit.
