Twenty Fourth Dinner

When I heard that so many people had gotten odd plants, I was a little worried about mine as well. Though, it isn't exactly what I would call normal, it isn't disappointing. It would have been nice to have proper onions, but the flowers are still good. I think there are enough to make a special treat with as well.

cooking, onion flowers, christmas plant

You're growing a plant as well? It seems to be all the rage in this city.

We all received a little package during a winter holiday a few weeks ago. It seemed a waste not to nurture the plant.

Really? Was it just one person giving them out, then?

I believe it was our captors that handed them out, but I'm honestly not sure. It was simply there when I woke up in the morning.

I was thinking perhaps making a light soup with it, though it's more of a lighter spring sort of dish. They are also good in salads and as toppings.

It will be a fun treat, especially since flowers and fresh vegetables seem to be rare.

I'm glad, it's fortunate that we got decent plants, isn't it?

Did you say... onions?

Yes, though, it's just the flower, not the bulb.

There are onion flowers?

[Excited] Can I see?

Of course, onions are only the root, the green part is the stem, and the flowers are... well, the flowers.

Here, I'll turn this thing on so you can see it.

[The video turns on after a while, it's obvious from the way he's holding it he had to fumble around with it a bit.]

Is it showing?
