Amazing! So much goodness in here. Looks like there are several albums we both see eye-to-eye on.

Albums I'm definitely going to check out on your recommendation:
* Local Natives
* Surfer Blood

Albums I liked but didn't love:
* LCD Soundsystem (tracks too long, some mixed oddly where synth is way too loud compared to drum/bass)

Albums I you liked that I didn't:
* Gorillaz (I never came around to it -- made your same initial assessment and stuck with it)
* Spoon (just less palatable/fun than their last few albums. See OK Go's album for what Spoon should've attempted this year)

Albums (non-hip-hop) I recommend you check out:
* New Pornographers - Together
* OK Go - Of the Blue Color of the Sky
