S-sob honestly we've been failing a little due to timezones and stuff, so Haruka and Kantarou haven't really--progressed, though they've gotten over some stuff that. Could have been in the way? I WOULD NEED TO TALK TO HARUKA ABOUT THIS TOO. There was a mononoke thread that sort of brought the Rin thing straight back to Haruka (the two of them are taken from some vague point circa v7/v8, so the Thing with Ayame has already happened), in which I, personally, think they made huge progress with the trust thing. \o/ I mean, when you look at their threads, they tend to have very different friends--it's in some ways, I think, a little healthier for Kantarou at least, because he's in a place where EVERYTHING is strange, where 75% of the population ARE the things that only he and Rosalie were able to see back home--he's not a freak here, and there is so much for him to see and investigate and do that's exactly what he's always dreamed of. :'( He

IN MY HEAD they're still doing the stuff they would have, if they'd not left Barsburg--like, I don't remember the exact words, but Hakuren mentions that they'd be traveling across the empire and honing his skills with Kor removal. Since that's less possible here--though I imagine that he gets some practice with the Kor-infused dolls that Castor uses for training Teito--they probably focus more on the philosophical/academic side of their practice. (I personally can't see a bishop and his apprentice ONLY focusing on the physical removal of Kor; I imagine that it would be one of those "everything is turned into a lesson and a learning process" kind of things. I mean, canon is kind of vague on this, but in normal situations--i.e. when one is not a dick like Hakuren's father--the person being exorcised and the people who love that person are aware of what's going on, and. I imagine some therapy or advice or something happens, too, especially for those who can't easily reach the Seventh District, like the one woman and her son

OKAY UH--I am going to assume that your familiarity with the canon is only from what I have told you and/or our threads SO. Like. The one thing that is established really early on (through Shuri) is that the Oak family is Big News. They're a military family, they're a political family, and in most recent canon there are implications that they have the ear of the imperial family itself. Which--makes sense, because I mean. Of an entire empire of people, why would they request a very young bishop who'd only just passed his exams and not the journeyman stage of his training to be the tutor to the imperial princess. Really. :( So Hakuren comes from a family that could, if it wanted, sweep all his mistakes and issues and whatevers under the rug and have it be ignored. We see this happen a lot with Shuri, in fact, and there's no reason NOT to believe it wasn't the same for Hakuren.

HOWEVER. His father is a dick--like, Hakuren is a mama's boy. He is incredibly a mama's boy, but she basically made a deal with the devil, which meant

I IMAGINE WE DO especially after CFUW ends because Hakuren will be like 8| WHAT WERE YOU DOING FIGHTING WITHOUT US 8| and--like, in my head, I have a vague idea of what Hakuren's schedule is! But there's a lot of vague handwaving about how regularly he sees people. On the other hand, his castmates in the churchshack and Devit are probably the ones he sees without fail daily, which means definitely he spends time with Mikage offscreen! \o/ Other than teaching him to knit, I imagine Hakuren kind of tries to engage Mikage in religious discussion/debate ever since Mikage mentioned wanting to enter the priesthood. And Mikage is teaching him how to cook. :|b It is a very easy laidback friendship; he doesn't feel particularly stressed or anxious about Mikage like he did when he first came to camp. \o/

And I imagine that if Burupya is not with Teito, he spends most of his time with Hakuren, and the rest of it visiting his other friends babydragon has a fancluuuuub. CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG. \o/

SOUNDS RIGHT TO ME \o/ and he probably tries to coax Hakuren into helping him with his language study sometimes, like to hold up flashcards or quiz him on vocab especially now as he will be bedridden AND BORED OUT OF HIS MIND GAWD. But always the English lessons and rarely the Japanese or German, because he would figure that if Hakuren's going to pick up bits of a language, it mights as well be Devit's.
