This was lovely. I think I really like your Atobe, who is quieter and more pensive than in a lot of fic I've seen, but still holds the arrogance and poise of an heir to an empire. I love his slow build relationship with Tezuka, how as a child, he just wants to show Beat to Tezuka, and play tennis and ride horses with him, and doesn't understand why these rules exist. I love their letters to each other and how Atobe keeps every single one (because he's really sentimental like that) and I love how Tezuka gets jealous of Oshitari, that was really cute. It was a very soft, pretty fic :D A really nice read.

I'm glad you liked Atobe. I was a bit worried when the whole fic ended up being from his pov since my Atobe muse was a bit rusty. I think it helped that most of the scenes were quieter ones and didn't give him the chance to showboat as usual (not that he would see it as such).

And he's a giant sap. Even when he doesn't yet know why he's being a giant sap he still is. And Oshitari is going to swoon if he ever finds out about the letters and gets to see them.

And you would be jealous to if your soulmate, who you're banned from spending time with, was talking closely with a handsome genius.

But omg, this was really sweet. Atobe keeping all the letters. Kabaji being his confidant (I love that) + kittens. (Kabaji + kittens = cavities. And Tezuka at the end was just wonderful.

Hahaaha what else would a young Atobe want to do? Though it certainly isn't the truth by the end of the fic. All he wanted was to play tennis with him and have rampant sex. (While hoping that they could figure that aspect out alright without damaging either of their egos)

Once I realized I had chibi Atobe in England it felt like I had to include Kabaji. Don't ask how the kittens got involved. I was clearly in a fluff inducing mood.
