Status of Final Stage...

Someone reminded me today that I forgot to mention what happened to my comic here--

My computer's HD crashed and had to be replaced. Fortunately a friend helped me replace it, and I was able to save most of the files. But unfortunately the discs for reinstalling my paint software are in storage!

IOW, my computer isn't capable of any digi-watercolor right now! The trouble is that I was using Painter 6.03 in Classic, but Tiger (the OS I had to install with the new HD) didn't include Classic. Right now I can run Photoshop a little, but a ton of my fonts still don't work and I cannot open Painter at all.

I'm hoping that when I get my stuff out of storage, I will have a disc that lets me install Classic. Otherwise I will start looking for a version of Painter that works in Tiger. I'm already trying to get the rest of my fonts back (it's ULTRA frustrating to me that OS 10.3 won't support a bunch of the fonts I'd been using just fine up until now. The Font Book app is proving to be more trouble than it's worth for me... And still others of my fonts just didn't get copied over for some reason.)

This is why I tried not to change my OS until 10K Commotion was finished, but after the crash I had no choice. I'm glad that I have a computer at all now. And don't worry, I'm still getting the "Hey, why do you suck so bad that you don't finish?" emails, so that means #1. you don't have to send me any more and #2. that I guess someone is still checking the site in spite of my digital misfortune. :3

But either way, I'm continuing to draw the next update (and beyond if it takes that long) even though I can't paint or letter them right now... Of course I'll announce once I upload it. It might even work out for the better if I use this time to draw all the way to the end. I'll do my best, although clearly I don't have control over all of the forces that determine this project :)
